Video – leftovers from episode 1&2

For television series it’s quite common to put together an extra episode out of unused footage. So why shouldn’t I do the same. I went trough the rushes from the shoot with Kim and found some making-of footage that I haven’t used yet.

Onto the pictures:

I only used a flash for the first few pictures in the video.

From here on it’s natural light only. So please don’t mind any stands, flashes and pocketwizards showing up in the video.

Now you’ve seen everything (that is suited for publication) from the shoot with Kim. I’m planning to have another photoshoot videotaped soon, so stay tuned.

    Bert,

I’ve just discovered your blog here (from Strobist) and I just wanted to say thank you! It’s very well written, and easy to understand for someone like me who is pretty new to any type of portrait photography. I love your work and the way you explain everything too. With English not as your first language, it actually helps, because you explain stuff at a pace that I can understand and follow!

I probably speak for a few people when I say, please, keep up the good work, and the video’s/tutorials especially.

    Peace,

    Ben

Excellent video and beautiful photos. Any chance of getting the EXIF data for the photos? Clearly you are balancing the ambient and flash, but it would be really useful to understand why you use certain settings (aperture, speed, manual or auto flash setting, etc.). Anyway, many thanks and I look forward to the next video.

I really enjoyed this! What a simple setup and what results… OK, I guess Kim contributed too :-)

Thank you and looking forward for the next inspiration!

    Hi Bert,
    Excellent work on the blog.
I was wondering when is your next video coming out?

I have a question if you don’t mind.
The remote flash, is it a Nikon flash? I think I saw Nikon written on the wireless trigger!

    Thanks.

    Thanks Mohamed.
I was actually editing the new video when I received your comment.

The flash in this movie is an old Nikon SB24. The wireless triggers are PocketWizards

Video at youtube is not available anymore. Can you share it again, please?

  14. November 20, 2007 at 04:09 PM

It works just fine Mykola. YouTube seems to have some hickups from time to time. If it doesn’t work, try again a few minutes later.
