a flower

I’ve always been jealous of photographers who have ‘an eye’ for abstract beauty and patterns in everyday things. I don’ consider myself one of those photographers, so when I manage to make a shot like this, I’m happy like a child.
Flower???

This image came out of my compact camera and there’s almost no post processing done. Who knows what this is?

Toothpicks, yes. Richard Maxted made a really magnificent one of these, which with another of a ball of elastic bands, makes a superb pair. It’s all in the lighting, he says. Definitely worth a look: http://www.richardmaxted.com

No reason to be jealous, you have a fantastic eye.
Sure looks like toothpicks to me as well.

Toothpicks indeed. I’ll have to find something more difficult next time.

This reminds me of those tiny details I saw on Discovery on a show called Brainiac. :) Nice set of toothpicks. Don’t forget to floss. :) Love the photo.

It kinda looks like the eyeball of a bug looked through a microscope :-)
