This morning my grandfather died peacefully after being ill for a long time. I’m happy that his suffering is over but I don’t realize yet that I will never see him again. The last few years the pain made his eyes dark, but when he saw his great grandchildren, I saw the twinkle in his eyes that I knew from my own childhood days.

Bompa, as we called him, loved every child and did whatever he could to make us happy. Fifteen years ago it was Bompa, who magically found an enlarger and a few packs of overdue photo paper when I told him I wanted to learn to print my own pictures.

    Your words about your grandfather’s passing are very sweet and moving. It shows that apart from being a top class photographer, you’re a good man too.

    I’m sorry to hear about your loss, I lost my granny 4 weeks ago too.
    And I’m still waiting for her to come home sometimes. It takes some time to get used to the idea.

    However, I have to say after all is done and the sadness time is gone, you’re gonna love the sweet memories you’ll remember. Trust me on this one.
