Quickie

Not much time for blogging these days but let me show you a quick preview from a shoot I did on monday for a new (and probably way too large project). Despite the lack of time, I really enjoyed doing this completely free shoot with Erika, my all time favorite model and dear friend. This isn’t the final version of the picture, just what rolled out of Lightroom.

Even if the days would count 48 hours, they would be way too short, these days. In three weeks we’ll move to the new house but there’s still soooooooooo much to do. We’ll have to compromise to meet our deadline. We knew this house would be a long term project but there’s still a lot more to do than you’d expect.

In the mean time I try to keep up with my photo work and emails. I’m forced to put answering technical and other questions from photographers on hold for the time being. You can still send me any questions but be (very) patient to get a reply. I hope you understand that I have to get my priorities straight.

Hi, serious dude, you are my idol, i’m trying to use a lightsphere to take beautiful shots, but i cant seem to get it right, after watching your video, i guess there are much more things i need to learn from you, most of my pictures are post process after the shoot, thanks!

    thanks guys,

@Mario: who said anything about a video? ;-)
I think I’m going to be Erika’s agent.

@Drck ng: Your name is hard to pronounce. I’ve never used a lightsphere. I personally think that restricting the light is often more interesting than having it bounce around everywhere.

    Hi Bert!

Another kick-ass shot of Erika!!! I’m so in love with her now.. ;) Looking forward to the whole set.

Did you purposely cut the bottom part to make the background form a “square” frame? I dunno, it looks good, but I felt a bit uneasy when I saw it at first glance.. Unless you were shooting through a window.

    Hi bert,

Thanks for the reply, i use the lightsphere direct on the model’s face, will that do? cause i am trying to shoot outdoor, but some will say that using nature light will do, but i seen some videos of yours, you uses two off shoe flash to create the separation of the model and the background. Will try doing that soon~ cheers!

    Regards,
    Drck

Thanks for the video of how you post process these, I used a the over-warming WB + desat with my last shoot, and it added that perfect subtle kick to the images!
