Free Workshop at Canon Eos Discovery Days

Canon will be hosting it’s Eos Discovery Days event here in Belgium on November 21 & 22 in Anderlecht (near Brussels). It will also be the first time most people get to meet the long anticipated 5D mkII.

On the event you’ll get to see and play with the complete line of Canon camera’s, lenses, printers, … and those with 1D(s) can get their sensors cleaned.  To prevent me for druiling over all that great equipment the whole time, the people from Canon decided to put me on a stage instead for some workshops.

I’ll be giving three to four workshops (45-60 minutes each)  each day. The workshops will be build up like a live shoot where I will explain how I work, the setting I use, how I light, how to work with a model and how to get great results with minimal post production. I’ll be also happy to answer any question between workshop sessions.

The best part is that this event and the workshops are completely free. You only have to register on the Eos Discovery site. There’s also a dedicated group on Facebook.

I’m really looking forward to do this and hope to meet some of you there.

Will it be only in Dutch/French? I would like to attend but my Dutch is only very basic (and French is even worse).

    Hi MikLav,
The sessions will be indeed in Dutch and French (which makes me a bit nervous). But I’ll be trying to show what I do. If you should come and don’t understand something, just shout out and I’ll translate to English. Or come up to me after the session with any questions.

    Hi Bert,

Congrats on making the stage. It will be great to see more info on the 5D Mark II.

For those of us overseas, do you think it may be possible to record a workshop or two (with subtitles), to post as a Confessions video?

    Just a thought…all the best.

I wish Canon was able to bring such workshops to India too.

Looking forward to see some of you there.

@Illogical: I have ordered some more Moo cards ;-)

@Alim: I’ll post some info on the 5D mkII once I get my greedy hands on one. I’m not sure if I can arrange a video. I’ll talk about it with the Canon guys but considering I’ll be incredibly busy the next few weeks, I don’t know if I can pull it off. But there are some other video’s in the making.

@Kapil: Start a petition to convice Canon to let me do a workshop there, I’d love to visit India. ;-)
