Whiteout – First Story for the KAGE Collective

Whiteout – First Story for the KAGE Collective

Just a short message to let you know that I’ve published my first documentary story for the KAGE COLLECTIVE.

You can see it here

On my trip to Japan, I promised myself to look for a small story or a feeling and try to photograph it. We got unexpectedly faced with the worst snow the area has seen in 40 years. It didn’t feel like a bad thing and the acceptance of the Japanese to adjust instead of fight the snow, was very different from what happens when Belgium gets some snow. I strangely enjoyed this “accepting what’s out of your control” thing and that became my story.

I’d like to thank the other KAGE members for helping me out with the presentation and editing of this story. I’ve learned so much from the long emails we’ve exchanged from the first draft to the final edit. This kind of storytelling places me out of my comfort zone and that’s exactly what I hoped to find in the KAGE Collective. I would also really appreciate to know what you think about it?
