The 50/50 project - 2019 edition
In 2009, I gave myself the assignment to shoot for 50 days straight with a 50mm lens. It turned out to be a project that has had a lasting impact on my photography. Back then, I shared the images in a series of YouTube videos.
Last September marked the 10th anniversary of the project and I thought it would be a good idea to repeat it. The experience was different this time but just as valuable. While shooting with nothing but a standard lens was a challenge ten years ago, it felt natural this time. But it reminded me of how much I like “real” photography.
I kept a diary during the project and I’m in the (slooooooow) process of turning the images and some essays based on the diary into a zine or book.
This time I didn’t post on YouTube, but posted a single image every day on my Instagram account. There are way more pictures then those 50 (I kept 1812 images). I’ll keep you posted on the zine/book. In the mean time, here are the 50 I posted on Instagram:
