The Fleeting Nature of Light
Natural light, it’s suddenly there and then it’s gone. It will return but never exactly the same. It seems predictable but if you really study it, it’s not. Each photon is altered and influenced by every particle it meets on it’s 150 million kilometer journey.
I used to fight the fleeting nature of light but over the years I’ve learned to accept and embrace it. It gives me comfort that it’s always different, however subtle the shifts are. It allows me to be in the moment, enjoy it while it lasts, accept it when it’s over and look forward to the next time a bunch or random photons create a unique piece of art.
I can watch the light change, shift and morph for hours … and I’m not the only one.
