XF33mm F1.4 - Chana
When I was asked to shoot sample pictures and a promotional video for the Fujinon XF33mm lens, one of the things I really wanted to do is experiment with action portraits. As usual my friend Chana was game to try some things out.
Chana has always been the sporty type, but she dialed it up to 11 lately. She seems to be running or cycling 25 hours a day.
Shooting a person running would have been a real challenge with my beloved old XF35mm and would have resulted in a lot of missed shots. With the new XF33mm it was just easy. I had to play around a bit with the continuous focus settings, but once they were set, I didn’t have to worry about the AF anymore.
For certain shots we were both running close to each other while taking pictures. That’s a challenge for any autofocus system. I let the camera and lens do the work so I could just focus on trying to get enough oxygen in to follow Chana.
Due to worldwide shortages, the lens is out of stock pretty much everywhere. I can’t wait to finally get my order in to explore further what this lens can do.
