Rain, rain and more rain. That was what we got on our annual camping trip with the kids.
One of the most beautiful, clean and maintained Belgian camping sites we stayed at. Yet, day by day more people headed home or a thousand kilometers to the South. I admit that both options looked tempting at times because the rain kept coming down.
But tarps, ropes and some creativity go a long way in staying dry. Deliberately enjoying the brief moments of sunshine make you feel alive and looking at alternative things to do broadens your horizon.
No amount of rain can spoil those precious moments with family and friends.
In the end, it was another great family trip in a beautiful part of the country. Although we wouldn’t mind to revisit in better weather ;-)
